Cool CSS thingy (for web coding nurds)

A little something I read about via wired.com, a really slick CSS ‘compressor’ called CSS Tweak, a web-based tool that will take whatever CSS you’ve written and consolidate styles, reducing the size and overhead of your style sheet code. Cool!

Hmm, not sure. All this tool does is take whatever CSS you’ve got and looks for more efficient ways to rewrite it in an efford to reduce the size of CSS code itself. It doesn’t (shouldn’t) change the appearance.

For example, if you had 3 different styles for bold headers, the only difference being color, it will try and consolidate the styles so that there is as little redundancy as possible between all 3 bold headers.

This kind of tool is great if you’re working on a huge site with MANY different individual style elements. I’ve in the past wished I could go back and clean up and consolidate a bit, but under deadlines / budget crunches that kind of thing can get left off the list because it takes time. This tool might help with that.
