As the title says, I hate the heat. I hate how tired it makes me. I hate sweating standing completely still. I hate how the relative rarity of this kind of heat here doesn't quite warrant the purchase of an expensive air conditioning unit for my house, but being miserable not having one. Urgh.
OK, I'm done ranting. This past weekend Kelly and I accomplished one goal, we ordered a new desk and chair for the guest bedroom / Kelly's office. We also escaped the heat a bit and saw Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest. The movie, while great fun, wasn't (for me) quite as good as the first one, but it was well worth seeing in the theater (which, for anyone who knows how I feel about the theater-going experience nowadays, says a lot).
Here's to hoping the weather forecast is correct and that it will drop below 90° F for the rest of the week.

It really shouldn’t ever be above 72 degrees anywhere in the world in my opinion. I mean, what’s the benefit?? Work, thank goodness has A/C but that can make your (my) allergies go crazy as well as drying your eyes out. Just when I thought it couldn’t be worse, my friend in LA called and said it was 119 degrees there. Now that’s just horrible. It’s already a lot cooler now than last night. Is there an end in sight??

I agree, 72 (even as high as 75) is perfect for a high. Anything above that ceases being fun for me. Unless of course I’m swimming in a river or other large body of water. 🙂 Something like 119 sounds like my worst nightmare. But yes, at least it’s cooler tonight than last night, don’t think it got below 80 last night. Tomorrow may ‘only’ reach 86. It’s not great, but it’s better.
I’m listening to BBC Radio 1, and they’re suffering something very similar, mid to upper 90’s. France and most of Europe has been suffering a large-scale (and pretty unusual) heat wave too. Nope, no such thing as global warming. Nope. No sir-ee. 🙂
Agreed, regarding ‘Pirates’. Good, but liked the first one better.
I think Earth’s orbit is decaying.
