I just learned of a “time capsule” of an apartment in Paris, abandoned by a French socialite in 1942 and left untouched until a couple years ago. The apartment belonged to Marthe de Florian, who paid the rent (despite never returning to the apartment) until her death a couple years ago. Interesting glimpse into the past. iPad Yahoo Weather app
The iPad version of the Yahoo Weather app is just beautiful. The screenshots below don’t do it justice. Scrolling down reveals subtle transitions and animations for rain, wind speed, etc. So nice.
Just got home a bit ago, it’s raining steadily and I’m out on the front porch when suddenly I see a rat scurry up to the house. Not a cute little mouse, or ugly opossum, or bandit-like raccoon like I’m used to, but a fairly large rat. WTF? I think the cat’s not doing his evil duty. Time to ration the food pellets.
